The community at First Presbyterian Church does not just happen by chance. There are many planned activities that provide opportunities for people to meet and make new friends.
Each Sunday, immediately following the worship service, attend the Fellowship Hour in the Elliott Room. This is an opportunity to meet those who have attended worship and to reacquaint yourself with those who you haven't seen for a while. Light refreshments are served, and it is a lively time. During the summer, Fellowship Hour will be held in the Peace Garden.
Summer gets started with a Church-wide Barbecue, with the grills fired up and an assortment of foods from around the world to accompany the barbecue. This event usually happens on the Sunday prior to Memorial Day weekend.
During the summer, we host a biweekly Summer Music Series and every other Friday evening, a Garden Party in the Peace Garden.
At Christmastime be sure to come out to one or more of the events that make Brooklyn such a wonderful place to live. Early in the season is the Breakfast With Santa, an opportunity for families with children to have an up-close-and-personal visit with Santa, and have some pancakes and other great food while waiting! Or perhaps you'd like to go Christmas Caroling with our choir (your voice will be greatly appreciated!) as we tour the neighborhood senior homes, fire stations, and places of business before having a potluck by the fire.
